Street Construction Updates & Closures

Street Closure - 17th Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, East 17th Street will be closed between Seventh Avenue and Tenth Avenue. East 14th Street will be used as a detour for both East 17th Street and East 20th Street. East 20th Street is currently closed to through traffic.

The City of Sioux Falls Public Works crew will be working to repair a water main. This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the day.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Sidewalk Closures - 11th Street & Dakota Avenue

Beginning on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the sidewalk along the south side of 11th Street and the east side of Dakota Avenue near the Washington Pavilion will be closed to allow contractors to perform sidewalk repairs at the Washington Pavilion. Pedestrians will be detoured around the work zone.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed within two weeks.
