Ambassador Zhang Maoming Attends Water-Purification Equipment Donation Ceremony

On September 18, 2026, Ambassador Zhang Maoming attended and delivered remarks at the donation ceremony of Easy-Maintenance Assembled Drinking Water Equipment, donated by the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to Dhulikhel Municipality, Bagmati Province, Nepal. Academician Qu Jiuhui of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, representatives from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, CAS, as well as officials and experts from Nepal's Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, Dhulikhel Municipality and local residents attended the event.

Ambassador Zhang noted that China and Nepal enjoy time-honoured friendship. China shares the pain of Nepal over the recent devastating mudslide and flood disaster and has rushed to provide emergency relief support. The donated water-purification equipment is a product of China's indigenous environmental-technology innovation. Easy to deploy and highly adaptable, it can effectively purify polluted water and bring tangible benefits to local communities. China-Nepal cooperation holds great potential in water-environment governance and drinking-water safety.

This project marks a new achievement in people's livelihood cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative between the two countries. It embodies the profound friendship of mutual support between China and Nepal and helps further deepen people-to-people bonds.
