Fort Worth's Office of Emergency Management will highlight September as National Preparedness Month with two hands-on community events designed to help City staff and residents prepare for emergencies.
Event details: Wednesday, Sept. 17, and Friday, Sept. 26, both dates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fort Worth City Hall lobby, 100 Fort Worth Trail.
For these events, the Office of Emergency Management is collaborating with the Fort Worth Transportation & Public Works Stormwater Division, DeafLink and the North Central Texas Council of Governments Emergency Preparedness Division.
During these events, staff and residents can learn how to build an emergency plan and an emergency kit, sign up for local alerts and Community Connect, learn about stormwater flood-warning resources, explore interactive displays, find out about the Accessible Hazard Alert System and get disaster preparedness information and tips. Free preparedness resources and safety giveaways will be available.
