Delayed: Sidewalk improvement project to begin in Sumner April 9

St. Joseph, Mo. - Ti-Zack Concrete, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, is now scheduled to begin a sidewalk improvement project on Route E in Sumner on Thursday, April 9. The project was originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, April 7 but was delayed due to the weather.

The project to help ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), funded in part through the Transportation Alternatives Program, will improve sidewalks in Bosworth, Hale, Keytesville, Mendon, Norborne, Rothville and Sumner.

Traffic Impacts: Some lane closures will be necessary throughout the project. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and follow all traffic control, flaggers, signs and barricades. All vehicles and personal property will need to be removed from the work area prior to start of construction.

Listed below is the tentative schedule of work:

• Sumner (Route E): April 9-29
• Rothville (Route EE): April 22-May 20
• Mendon (Route CC): May 11-29
• Keytesville (Route K): May 22-June 2
• Norborne (Route D): May 27-July 1
• Bosworth (Route M): June 22-July 13
• Hale (Missouri Route 139): July 6-14.

Once the sidewalk replacements are complete, crews will install signs and pavement markings.

The project is expected to be complete by late July.
