Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping Attends the First National Shenmo Abacus Mental Math Competition
On October 11, Ambassador Zhao Weiping was invited to attend the first National Abacus Mental Math Competition organized by Shenmo Education Namibia.
In his remarks, Ambassador Zhao said that the abacus calculation is a great invention of the Chinese nation dating back to 1,800 years ago. Abacus mental math, developed based on this foundation, plays an important role in cultivating children's interest in mathematics and enhancing their cognitive abilities. The Chinese Embassy is ready to continuously provide its support for the promotion of abacus mental math in Namibia.
The director of Shenmo Education Namibia pointed out in her speech that the abacus calculation is a contribution of Chinese civilization to the world, and promoting abacus mental math in Namibia helps to deepen cultural exchanges between Namibia and China.
Shenmo Education Namibia has been offering abacus mental math courses since 2023, with over 600 primary and secondary school students having received training so far.
