Aledade, a physician-led, national leader in value-based care, today announced the appointment of Oraida Roman as its new chief commercial officer. In this role, Roman will lead the company's strategy for health plan partnerships, focusing on creating strong alignment among health plans and Aledade's primary care partners to deliver better health care and improve affordability.
Leading the company's portfolio of more than 200 value-based contracts, Roman will oversee the entire lifecycle of health plan relationships, including business development, contracting, performance management and the strategic expansion of multi-year arrangements across Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and commercial lines of business.
"Oraida is a proven leader with a deep understanding of health plan operations and innovative care delivery," said Mat Kendall, co-founder and president of Aledade. "Her ability to foster collaborative, sustainable economic frameworks between health plans and clinical teams will be invaluable. She will play a vital role in advancing Aledade's mission to deliver better health, better care and lower costs, and helping us create a health care system that is truly good for patients, practices and society."
Roman brings more than 25 years of experience in health care strategy and operations. Most recently, she served as a senior vice president at Humana, where she managed national contracting teams and led the company's national value-based strategy. During her previous role, she achieved significant success in strengthening physician collaborations and improving the physician experience. This effort led to more than 70% of Medicare Advantage members becoming linked with value-based primary care physicians. Before her time at Humana, Roman served in executive capacities at DaVita Medical Group, including market president for Colorado and chief operating officer for Florida. She holds a Master of Health Administration from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University.
"I am thrilled to join Aledade and help advance efforts to create a health care system that aligns incentives to reward what works," Roman said. "I look forward to advancing Aledade's mission working across health plan partners to achieve success in value-based care arrangements that reward high quality primary and preventive care."
