MIDAGRI sets the tone at Expo Agraria 2025 with actions related to the EUDR and the Roadmap towards a circular economy.

Within the framework of Expo Agraria 2025, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), with the support of the European Union's Circular Economy Sustainable Business Program, presented the main actions it has been developing in response to the European Union Regulation on Deforestation (EUDR) and the Roadmap towards a Circular Economy in the agrarian and irrigation sector, consolidating its leadership in the construction of a sustainable and internationally competitive agriculture.

Through a specialized information booth and educational activities, producers and visitors will be able to access guidance on the National Environmental Development Strategy (EUDR), benefiting the cacao, coffee, and palm oil production chains.

In addition, information is disseminated on the benefits of the circular economy in agriculture, supplemented with informational materials and technical advice from ministry specialists.

As part of the fair's academic agenda, MIDAGRI held a technical talk aimed at producer organizations and the general public. Key topics covered included the ministry's role in implementing the EUDR, support for geolocation and digital skills, regulatory requirements, the importance of the Agricultural Producers Registry (PPA), the development of digital skills, the Environmental Management Regulations for the Agrarian and Irrigation Sector (RGASAR), and the application and benefits of the circular economy in the sector.

At the same time, progress was presented on the Roadmap to a Circular Economy in the agrarian and irrigation sector, which seeks to strengthen producers' livelihoods and ensure the sustainability of agrarian activities. This roadmap is based on five strategic pillars: resource efficiency, circular business models, regulations, circularity tools, and a circular culture.

With these initiatives, MIDAGRI is committed to more transparent and sustainable agriculture, ensuring that emblematic products such as Peruvian cacao, coffee, and palm oil maintain their competitiveness in international markets, in line with global demands and the country's commitment to sustainable agrarian development.
