Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our crime map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Click on icons for more detail. Addresses listed are rounded to the hundred block. For a complete list of case reports, visit olympiawa.gov/p2c.

Notable Trends

  • Two robberies reported with one an open investigation and one arrest. In the arrest, the suspect punched an employee that was trying to stop her from shoplifting.
  • Six commercial burglaries reported with one open investigation. Two were suspects who returned to stores they were previously trespassed from and stole again. In one case, a suspect threw a rock into a window and stole a laptop from an office building. The rock was recovered and sent to the lab for DNA testing. One case was a storage unit burglary, but nothing appeared to be missing. An officer arrested the suspect in the last case. After responding to the burglary call, the officer left for a theft call while the burglary victim looked through video and did inventory. During the arrest of the theft suspect, the officer found multiple items that still had tags on them in the suspect's bag. He returned to the burglary incident and the victim located specifically where all the recovered items were taken from in his store. The suspect was booked for a felony burglary instead of the misdemeanor theft.
  • Four vehicle prowls reported for the week with arrests in two cases. In one, a witness saw the suspect inside a work van, trying to start it. Officers located the suspect nearby and recovered around 20 keys on him during the arrest. In the other arrest, among the property stolen was the victim's debit card which the suspect used at a gas station. The gas station had video of the suspect using the card. While responding to another call later in the morning, the officer saw the suspect ride by on a bike. He was arrested and the victim's property was recovered and returned.
