WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) today released the following statement on the passing of former Kansas State Representative Larry Hibbard:
"I was saddened to learn of the passing of Larry Hibbard, a lifelong Kansan who dedicated his life to serving his community and our state. I was grateful to count him as a friend, and I appreciated his steadfast commitment to agriculture and the rural communities that are such an important part of the Kansas way of life. Larry and his wife, Cindy, built their lives around serving others. From his service in the Kansas National Guard to his leadership in his family's farm and livestock operation and his involvement in numerous community boards and organizations, Larry consistently found ways to give back to the place that raised him.
"He served our state well in the Kansas House of Representatives, where he earned the respect of all who worked with him, regardless of party or political differences. He leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication and commitment to caring for others. Robba and I extend our condolences to Cindy, their children, Clayton and Paula, and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren in this difficult time."
