Kristen Hoffecker sworn in as Presiding Judge of Colorado Springs Municipal Court

Judge Kristen Hoffecker was sworn in Thursday as Presiding Judge of the Colorado Springs Municipal Court during a ceremony at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.

Mayor Yemi Mobolade administered the oath of office in the museum's historic courtroom.

"Our residents depend on a Municipal Court that is fair, professional and worthy of their trust," said Mayor Yemi Mobolade. "Judge Hoffecker has demonstrated the experience, character, judgment and leadership this role requires. She has earned the respect of her colleagues and my respect, and I have every confidence she is prepared to lead our Municipal Court into its next chapter."

Hoffecker has served as an associate municipal court judge since 2016 and brings more than two decades of legal experience to the role. Her career has included service as a prosecutor for the City of Colorado Springs and the Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office. She has also served as a magistrate judge for Colorado's Fourth Judicial District and as municipal judge for the Town of Calhan.

Hoffecker earned her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

During her time with the Colorado Springs Municipal Court, Hoffecker has earned the respect of her colleagues through her fairness, sound judgment, professionalism, and commitment to justice.

"It is an honor to serve the people of Colorado Springs as Presiding Judge," said Judge Hoffecker. "I am grateful for the trust placed in me and for the opportunity to continue serving alongside the dedicated judges and staff of the Municipal Court. I look forward to leading with fairness, integrity and respect for every person who comes before our Court."

As presiding judge, Hoffecker will lead the Colorado Springs Municipal Court and its bench of municipal judges.
