SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay), released the following statement in response to United States Supreme Court's decision undermining Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.

"The Supreme Court's ruling is an unconscionable decision that risks turning back our democracy decades and weakens fair representation across our country. We should be strengthening protections for voters not rolling them back and California will continue pressing forward even in the face of federal attacks."

Dawn Addis was elected to the California State Assembly in 2022 to represent the coastal 30th Assembly District, which includes San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties. She is the Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee 1 on Health.
