Motorists traveling on State Route 93 in Sullivan County should be aware of road construction activities that will affect traffic.
Beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, State Route 93 will be closed in each direction between Murrell Road and State Route 347 (Lone Star Road/Mill Creek Road) as crews install storm drainpipe across the roadway. Local traffic will be permitted, but southbound motorists will not be able to travel to Derby Drive and will need to take the detour route along State Route 347. This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. on Friday, May 1.
This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and "Know Before You Go!" by checking travel conditions before leaving for their destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel.
