USCIB’s Kristen Edgreen Kaufman Elected Vice President, Global Employers at the International Labour Organization

June 15, 2026, New York, NY-The US Council for International Business (USCIB) announces the election of USCIB's Kristen Edgreen Kaufman, SVP, Global Impact Initiatives, to the role of Vice President of Global Employers at the International Labour Organizations' 114th International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva, Switzerland from June 1-12. Kaufman represented global employers on behalf of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and helped shape meaningful outcomes for workplaces and economies around the world.

Kaufman served with the Governments' Vice President, Ambassador Nahida Sobhan of Bangladesh, and the Workers' Vice President, Gerardo Martínez of Argentina, alongside President Juan Castillo, the Minister of Labour and Social Security of Uruguay, to chair the proceedings and facilitate consensus-building among Governments, Employers, and Workers' representatives at the conference, which is often described as the "world parliament of labour."

"Being elected Vice President of the ILC and representing the global employer community and private sector was a true honor," said Kaufman. "The ILO's unique tripartite structure-where Governments, Employers, and Workers' groups hold equal voting power-matters because policy is too often shaped in isolation, without regard for the business realities it affects. This year's Conference proved especially significant. Delegates finalized international labor standards that carry major implications for innovation, competitiveness, and business operations worldwide, including for many American companies."
