Washington, D.C. - The following statement regarding President Trump's Executive Order on TikTok and related developments on U.S. ownership of the platform can be attributed to Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) President & CEO Karen Kerrigan:

"As President Trump noted in his remarks today at the White House, America's creators and small business owners are building successful businesses and revenue streams through their connections and engagement with TikTok users. The platform has grown in importance in terms of how entrepreneurs and small business owners identify, attract, and engage consumers utilizing the platform's tools. Our most recent survey shows that 26% of small businesses use TikTok as part of their multi-platform strategies to connect their offerings and brands with consumers and to drive revenues. Reaching a deal to keep TikTok operating under U.S. ownership and in a way that protects the best interests of our citizens, small business owners, and the economy is an important development. SBE Council applauds all parties for reaching this important agreement. We look forward to reviewing the additional details of the agreement, and supporting more small business owners and creators in their adoption of this effective tool along with other digital tools to help their businesses grow and succeed."
