Monmouth County Commissioners highlight the Borough of Avon-by-the-Sea Shared Services
County delivers multiple shared services to the Borough
FREEHOLD, NJ - As part of their series on successful shared services partnerships, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners would like to showcase the Shared Services agreements between Monmouth County and the Borough of Avon-by-the-Sea.
Since 2008, the Borough of Avon-by-the-Sea has been utilizing a Commodity Resale Agreement then, in 2009, they signed a Municipal Assistance Agreement with the County. Guided by the Monmouth County Department of Public Works, these agreements offer reliable services and commodities at a lower cost.
"Not only do shared service agreements cut costs, but they also build partnerships that deliver sustainable services for our towns," said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. "Whether it's public works support, equipment sharing, or engineering assistance, we are committed to helping our municipalities operate more efficiently."
"The Borough of Avon-by-the-Sea is grateful for the shared service agreements we have with the County. A few examples of how these agreements are helpful to the Borough, and especially the DPW, are the ability to purchase road brine and the use of the vehicle washing station. The County has also paved the parking lot of our First Aid building. All these examples save the Borough money, which is extremely beneficial for our small town," said Ed Bonnano, Mayor of Avon-by-the-Sea. "We look forward to continuing to work with the County with our many shared service agreements."
The Borough of Avon-by-the-Sea also holds other Shared Services Agreements with Monmouth County, such as the Public Safety Answering Point, Tax Board MOD IV, Community Rating System and Health Services Agreements.
The Monmouth County Office of Shared Services facilitates partnerships with local government entities through which the County provides services, equipment and resources to a local government, which helps to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
