Thai Union Ingredients unveils unique marine longevity portfolio built on tuna supply chain it owns end to end

Cognition, skin, and bone health ingredients with full traceability launched as Asia-Pacific heads toward 1.3 billion people over 60

BANGKOK, September 1, 2026 - Thai Union Ingredients today unveiled its vertically integrated marine longevity portfolio at Vitafoods Asia 2026, bringing together DHA oil, collagen, and bio calcium through a single tuna ingredient pipeline. It addresses cognitive, skin, and bone needs across different stages of life, with proven results backed by human trials.

Longevity supplement brands generally work with separate suppliers and supply chains. But Thai Union Ingredients, the marine ingredients business of Thai Union Group PCL, stands out for producing an integrated healthy aging solution through a proprietary model extending from tuna sourcing to factories, refineries and finished ingredients. This enables end-to-end traceability and direct quality control at every stage of production.

The portfolio enters the market as Asia-Pacific prepares for significant demographic change. The number of people aged 60 and over in the region will roughly triple between 2010 and 2050, approaching 1.3 billion, according to the United Nations Population Fund. By then, one in four people in the region will be over 60.

Demand for longevity products, however, already extends across generations. A 2025 McKinsey survey found that up to 60% of consumers viewed healthy aging as a top or very important priority, with younger generations increasingly taking a proactive approach.

UniQ®OMEGA: Supports cognitive performance with refined tuna DHA oil. A 2025 human study, published in the journal Antioxidants, recorded a 42% improvement in attention and 33% in working memory.

ThalaCol™: Supports skin structure with tuna collagen peptides. A 2024 clinical study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that consuming five grams daily improved skin hydration by 68%, density by 26%, and elasticity by 16%.

UniQ®BONE: Provides calcium and phosphorus in a 2-to-1 ratio through tuna bio calcium in natural hydroxyapatite form, the same structure found in human bone and teeth. A 2017 animal study in the Journal of Science of Food and Agriculture indicated a 39% improvement in bone microstructure.

Each comes from a part of the fish that most processors cannot use: the head, the skin, and the bone. All three are co-products of tuna Thai Union already handles for food, converted into ingredients at specialized facilities that include an oil refinery in Germany, a collagen factory in Samut Sakorn and a bone powder facility in southern Thailand.

Thai Union Ingredients has set public growth targets for parts of the portfolio. ThalaCol™ aims to generate at least USD 30 million in revenue within five years, while the business is targeting compound annual growth of more than 50% in premium Omega-3 sales by 2030.

The ingredients serve applications spanning infant nutrition, dietary supplements, functional foods, and pet supplements.
