Registration is now open for Senior Concerns’ fifth annual “Par and Away” Golf Tournament

Participants will enjoy breakfast, a Bloody Mary bar, a boxed lunch, golfer gift bags, hosted on-course surprises, snacks and beverages, and a celebratory 19th hole reception and awards dinner beginning at 3 p.m. The evening will also include silent and live auctions led by celebrity auctioneer Zack Krone. Reception-only tickets are available for non-golfers.

The annual fundraiser brings golfers, businesses and community supporters together to help fund Senior Concerns' programs serving more than 13,000 older adults and family caregivers throughout eastern Ventura and western Los Angeles counties. This year's tournament comes as the organization is experiencing a significant increase in requests for assistance.

"The need in our community is growing at a pace we haven't seen before," said Andrea Gallagher, president and CEO of Senior Concerns. "We used to receive one or two inquiries a week about Meals On Wheels. Now we're receiving 10 to 12. At the same time, more older adults and family caregivers are reaching out to our case workers for guidance, resources and support. The funds raised through events like Par and Away help us respond when our neighbors need us most."

Proceeds support Senior Concerns' programs for older adults and family caregivers, including Meals On Wheels, the Adult Day Program, Caregiver Support Center, Senior Advocacy and other services designed to help people remain supported, connected and as independent as possible.

"Par and Away is a wonderful example of our community coming together and having a great time while making a meaningful impact," Gallagher said. "Every golfer, sponsor, auction donor, volunteer and guest helps ensure older adults and family caregivers have somewhere to turn when they need a meal, guidance, respite or simply someone to help them navigate what comes next."

Tournament schedule

• 8 a.m. - Registration, golfer gift bag pickup and breakfast; Bloody Mary bar; putting contest.
• 10 a.m. - Shotgun start, scramble format with on-course lunch, snacks, beverages, and contests.
• 3:00 p.m. - 19th Hole Reception & Awards Dinner; silent & live auctions led by celebrity auctioneer Zack Krone.
