President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili Meets with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian

President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian.

During the meeting, the President once again expressed his condolences over the tragic events in Iran and paid tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives.

The parties reviewed the good-neighbourly relations between Georgia and Iran and discussed the bilateral cooperation agenda. Particular attention was devoted to the importance of promoting peace and stability in the region.

The parties underscored that cooperation between Georgia and Iran is founded on mutual respect, as well as due regard for each other's sovereignty and national interests.

The President of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the President of Iran for Iran's support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During his visit to Tehran, the President of Georgia also attended the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which brought together leaders from countries across the region - including Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as from other parts of the world.
