USDA Announces $2.3 Million Awarded through the Micro-Grants for Food Security Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced approximately $2.3 million in grant funding awarded to departments of agriculture in Hawaii, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and American Samoa through the Mico-Grants for Food Security Program (MGFSP).

Projects funded through MGFSP increase the quantity and quality of locally grown food through small-scale gardening, herding, and livestock operations. MGFSP recipients will subaward funding to projects that support communities that have significant levels of food insecurity and import significant quantities of food. Those interested in a subaward should contact their state/territory department of agriculture. MGFSP is funded through the 2018 Farm Bill.
