Freezing rain is expected to develop tonight between 7pm to 10pm, with gradual south-to-north improvement by early Monday morning.
Impacts to overnight and Monday morning travel are expected.
Drivers are urged to use caution.
Slow Down & Increase Distance: Reduce speed significantly and leave ample space between you and the car ahead.
Brake Gently: Avoid sudden braking; brake early and gently to prevent skids.
Use Headlights: Keep them on to see and be seen.
Clear Your Vehicle: Remove all snow and ice from windows, roof, hood, and trunk before driving.
Watch for Black Ice: It's hard to see and makes tires lose grip; 4-wheel drive doesn't help stop on it.
Be Wary of Bridges & Ramps: They freeze first and often have less treatment.
Avoid Cruise Control: It can make you lose control if you hit a slippery spot.
Stay Back from Plows: Give plows and maintenance vehicles at least 200 feet of space.
