LOS ANGELES - Today, Mayor Bass announced that she has appointed Patrice Lattimore to serve as the new Clerk for the City of Los Angeles. With more than two decades of experience within the Office of the City Clerk, Ms. Lattimore will execute the Mayor's vision of the City Clerk's Office remaining at the forefront of technological advancements, ensuring the delivery and access of information to the public, guaranteeing transparency and supporting the City's policymakers. With a proven track record of innovation and improving accessibility, Ms. Lattimore has dedicated her career to serving the people of Los Angeles, and ensuring that the City of Los Angeles is accessible to its residents.
"The City Clerk plays a critical role within the City of Los Angeles, by ensuring that Angelenos have access to their municipal government while also holding the responsibility of administering fair and open elections," said Mayor Bass. "With elections occurring next year and the Charter Reform Commission process underway, the City Clerk's office needs steady leadership that can proactively meet the needs of the department and the larger City government. I trust Ms. Lattimore can leverage her extensive experience to guide the City Clerk's Office, providing dynamic and flexible leadership in these challenging times for our city."

In her current position, Ms. Lattimore serves as the Chief Management Analyst within the Office of the City Clerk, where she has developed and implemented a comprehensive, innovative legislative management system and improved language inclusion by increasing accessibility to Spanish language services for all Council and Committee meetings. She earned her Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Southern California and later earned her Masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Los Angeles Pacific University.
Mayor Bass added, "I want to offer my deepest gratitude to Petty Santos for continuing to serve as interim City Clerk until Ms. Lattimore is confirmed by the City Council. Her stewardship of the department and extensive understanding of the City's processes have helped move this city forward and I am grateful for her dedicated partnership."
Ms. Lattimore's appointment will be considered by the Government Operations Committee, followed by a presentation to the full City Council for confirmation.
