The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, opened the presentation of the OICE Foreign Report 2025 today at Villa Madama. OICE is the association that since 1965 has brought together over 450 Italian engineering, architecture, and technical-economic consulting firms operating in more than 150 countries, in collaboration with the Foreign Ministry, the diplomatic-consular network, and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA).
In the presence of OICE President Giorgio Lupoi, the Report, edited by the European Research Centre (CER), was the focus of two in-depth sessions dedicated respectively to "Engineering and Infrastructure. The Italian System Abroad" and "Climate Change, Artificial Intelligence, and Digitalization," with the participation of member institutions and companies. Speakers included Confindustria Vice President Cimmino, ITA President Zoppas, SIMEST CEO Corradini D'Arienzo, and CDP International Market Development Director Franciosi.
In her speech, Undersecretary Tripodi emphasized that the overall turnover of OICE companies, close to €5 billion, confirms the sector's solidity and ability for innovation, active in all strategic sectors for the country. She also highlighted the role of SMEs, which account for 70% of associated companies abroad, as a strategic lever for our manufacturing base, capable of competing globally with expertise and vision.
Undersecretary Tripodi concluded: "Behind every individual achievement there is the collective strength of a functioning system: our Growth Diplomacy. With the Export Action Plan promoted by Minister Tajani, we are supporting Italian companies in high-potential markets, strengthening the synergy between institutions, ITA, SACE, SIMEST, and CDP. Wherever the future is being built, Italy is there-with its expertise, creativity, and reliability."
