JUBA, Aug. 17 --The 12th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba) recently held a Force Commander's Commendation ceremony. Major General Wu Junhui, Force Commander of UNMISS, attended the event and presented the Force Commander's Commendation to 31 Chinese peacekeepers in recognition of their outstanding contributions during their peacekeeping mission.
It is learned that the 12th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to South Sudan (Juba) was formed mainly from a brigade assigned to the Chinese PLA 82nd Group Army. To date, the battalion has carried out over 90 mandated tasks, including joint patrols and armed escorts, covering a cumulative distance of more than 10,000 kilometers. Meanwhile, the battalion has actively provided humanitarian assistance, earning high praise from UNMISS and local residents.
