Join the Eco-City Academy 2026!
Applications for the 2026 Eco-City Academy are now open! This program gives residents the knowledge and tools to take an active role in advancing the City's climate, energy, and sustainability efforts and become leaders in building a greener future for our community.
What is the Eco-City Academy? A two-day program, held over two Saturdays, where you will learn about City programs and resources that are driving progress on our energy, climate, and environmental goals, and walk away with practical ways you can contribute to that progress.
Why Join? You will learn from experts, connect with fellow residents committed to sustainability, and play a direct role in shaping a greener, more sustainable Alexandria.
Who Can Apply? City of Alexandria residents aged 17 and older who are passionate about the environment, sustainability, and community.
How to Apply? Apply online by August 12, 2026. Spaces are limited, and participants will be randomly selected from each Alexandria zip code.
Key Dates: Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. August 12, 2026. The program will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, and Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Additional Information: Lunch will be provided on both days, and the sessions will be conducted in-person in English.
