Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs meets with Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage

On 19 December 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with M.L. Dispanadda Diskul, Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage (MFLF), to discuss ways to strengthen partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foundation on sustainable development.
The MFLF Secretary-General reaffirmed the Foundation's readiness to support the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in strengthening Thailand's global leadership on sustainability. By putting humans at the center of development to further support community empowerment, MFLF's work spans from its long-standing expertise in Alternative Development (AD) to eliminate illicit crop cultivation, to its current pioneering efforts in climate change initiative, specifically on forest carbon credit projects for sustainable growth.

For over a decade, the Ministry and MFLF have collaborated closely to champion Alternative Development in the United Nations, particularly at the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND). Through the joint presentation of annual resolutions on AD co-drafted with Germany and Peru, Thailand has successfully advocated for AD as a globally recognised, holistic approach to drug control -one that focuses on providing secure and sustainable livelihoods for better future of the people.
