Today (5.19), Stella Prince, the 21-year-old singer-songwriter renewing folk music for a new generation, delivers her interpretation of Buffalo Springfield's 1966 protest anthem - "For What It's Worth."

"I wanted to record my own version of For What It's Worth because I truly believe it is the most timely song for 2026," says Prince. "It resonates not only with me, but everyone in my generation - Gen Z - as a wake up call to where we are in these wild times. It's as relevant now as it was in 1966. And recording it in Laurel Canyon 60 years after its original release made it all the more full circle."

Originally inspired by the Sunset Strip riots in Los Angeles in the 1960s, the song continues to resonate throughout history. Featuring a raw, authentic and intimate delivery laced with crystalline vocal trills, Prince's take on "For What It's Worth" perfectly mirrors the social unrest and emotional climate within the United States today.

Prince has officially partnered with Taylor Guitars as a Brand Ambassador and recently performed "For What It's Worth" as part of its "Our Neck of the Woods" series, recorded on the factory floor of Taylor Guitars headquarters. Her live performance video is set to drop Thursday, May 28.

Taylor Guitars says "Stella Prince's 'For What It's Worth' captures everything exciting about the next generation of folk-pop. It's honest, melodic, and emotionally fearless. The kind of vocal interpretation that connects instantly while still feeling timeless."

Prince has drawn comparisons to folk icons including Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez, but with a touch of indie flair. Earning praise from Forbes, No Depression, USA Todayand more, her singular sound evokes the spirit of the 70s-era Laurel Canyon scene. She performed at SPIN's Road to Austin Showcase during SXSW earlier this year and is currently touring across the West Coast. She'll make an appearance at The Long Road Festival in August, alongside artists including Maren Morris, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle and others, and she recently announced a three-night London residency at Green Note kicking off August 23.

This Fall, Prince is set to release her debut album, which is being recorded at Floki Studios in Iceland, the same studio where Justin Bieber recorded his 2025 album, SWAG.
