Soccer Ball Sculpture Can Be Found at Liberty Square Park

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (August 13, 2026) - Liberty Square Park now features a striking piece of public art: a 7-foot-tall, 1,500-pound soccer ball sculpture titled "It Found Its Way In."

Created by Connecticut-based artist Taína H. Cruz, the stainless-steel artwork was one of 23 pieces on display across New Jersey and New York celebrating the FIFA World Cup. Commissioned by Arts 14C in partnership with the local host committee, the project uses art and athletics to bridge communities.

After spending six weeks displayed at The Yard on College Avenue, the sculpture has found a home for now at Liberty Square Park. Featuring abstract illustrations, Cruz's work reflects themes of arrival, belonging, and shared community identity.
