Security Council Open Debate on Small Arms and Light Weapons

The Security Council meets at 10 a.m. for an open debate on small arms and light weapons, chaired by President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone. Officer-in-Charge of the Office of Disarmament Affairs and Deputy to the High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, Adedeji Ebo, is expected to brief the 15-member Council. Delegates have before them the Secretary-General's latest report (document S/2025/670) on the matter, submitted on a biennial basis pursuant to resolution 2220 (2015).
