SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois State Museum-Dickson Mounds will host the annual Fulton-Mason Eagle Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, offering a full day of free, family-friendly programming celebrating bald eagles and the natural resources of the central Illinois River Valley.
"Dickson Mounds Museum is thrilled to be part of such a dynamic community event," said Sara Shaffer-Henry, associate director of Dickson Mounds Museum. "Eagle Day provides an important opportunity to educate the public about the natural and cultural significance of the central Illinois River Valley."
Fulton-Mason Eagle Day is sponsored by the City of Lewistown, Forbes Biological Station and Illinois River Biological Station, Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway, Illinois State Museum-Dickson Mounds, Lewistown Chamber of Commerce, Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon, The Nature Conservancy, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Illinois River Refuges Complex.
