Over the course of two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 2, thousands of family members, friends and guests joined school administrators and faculty to celebrate the 966 members of Trevecca Nazarene University's 2026 graduating class.
"We are proud to be commissioning this group to serve and lead with integrity," Provost Dr. Tom Middendorf said. "From our perspective, these graduates are a gift from Trevecca to the world."
The day's events included morning and afternoon ceremonies, both held indoors due to the weather-a 9 a.m. convocation for the conferral of all undergraduate degrees and a 2 p.m. convocation for graduates receiving advanced degrees.
Trevecca President Dr. Dan Boone offered the challenge to new graduates during both services. A response from traditional undergraduates was given by graduating senior Jeremiah Carlton.
"At Trevecca, we've experienced confirmation that the Lord is here with us and has a purpose for us," Carlton said in his address. "We have been reminded again and again that education here is not just about knowledge, but it's about the whole transformation."
The ceremony also included the awarding of an honorary doctoral degree to Stephen Bargatze. The famed magician, motivational speaker and entertainer is a 1984 graduate of Trevecca.
Trevecca Nazarene University is a Christian university in the heart of Nashville focused on preparing students for lives of leadership and service.
