Not Too Late to Join Summer Reading!

Posted on: July 15, 2026 | Category: Spotlight

Over 23,800 readers have joined the Challenge. It's not too late to make reading part of your summer! Whether you prefer a few quiet minutes before bed, audiobooks during your commute, or stories shared with keiki, it all counts. This year's theme, "E Heluhelu Kākou - ʻUmeke Kāʻeo", is a calabash full to the brim and a poetic way to describe someone full of knowledge.

Backlog Your Reading!

Don't forget you can log any book, audiobook, or graphic novel you have read since June 1, 2026 and it counts towards your reading rewards and increases your chances to win the grand prize.

Exciting Rewards Await!

Grand Prizes: Thanks to Alaska Airlines, we've added a second grand prize. One child/teen reader will receive 4 domestic airline tickets, and one adult reader will receive 2 domestic airline tickets.

More Ways to Track: You choose how to log - track your minutes or the number of books completed.

Boost Your Luck: Visit your local library each week to find the Word of the Week for bonus entries.
