Public Meeting: Proposed Temporary Left-Turn Closures on Malabar Road
What's being considered
The City of Palm Bay, in cooperation with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), is proposing to temporarily close the two left-turn median openings on Malabar Road between San Filippo Boulevard and I-95.
Why this test matters
The temporary closures will help Palm Bay and FDOT confirm whether these left turns are contributing to heavy backups on southbound I-95 at the Malabar Road exit. Removing the option for these left turns, together with signal coordination, is expected to improve traffic flow.
