Open Burning

As a reminder, open burning is not permitted within the City of Clayton except under specific circumstances approved by the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency (RAPCA).

What this means for residents:
✅ Small, contained recreational fires (fire pits, chimeneas, grills) are allowed if they are safely managed.
❌ Burning of trash, yard waste, leaves, or construction debris is strictly prohibited.

These rules are in place to protect air quality, reduce fire hazards, and keep our community safe.

If you have questions about what is or isn't allowed, please visit https://www.rapca.org/

or contact the Clayton Fire Department at 937-836-3500.

Thank you for helping us keep Clayton safe.
