March 31, 2026 (WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.) - Palm Beach Atlantic University is pleased to announce a new partnership with the NextEra Energy Foundation, which, in addition to other support, contributed $75,000 to the University's recently opened Marshall and Vera Lea Rinker Business Hall.
"We are incredibly grateful for NextEra Energy Foundation's partnership and generosity," said Dr. Debra A. Schwinn, PBA's president. "Their commitment to supporting higher education and dedication to growing South Florida's business community is underscored not only by their community engagement and commitment to innovation in energy, but also the support of NextEra Energy's Vice President of Information Technology Solutions & Operations Grace Kurian, who has graciously served on PBA's board of trustees since 2023."
The NextEra Energy Foundation is a corporate foundation of NextEra Energy, Inc. and Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), which supports and strengthens the communities it serves. At its core, the Foundation is focused on breaking down barriers to opportunity and helping people succeed particularly through education, workforce development, disaster relief, and community development.
Because of the NextEra Energy Foundation's generosity, PBA has invited them to name a study room on the fourth floor of the business hall. The Foundation will also underwrite the LeMieux Center for Public Policy Speaker Series, participate in PBA career fairs and guest lecture opportunities, and host an FPL Power Mixer. Through this networking event, PBA business and engineering students can connect with FPL and NextEra Energy business, engineering, and tech leaders for job and internship opportunities-bolstering their college experience as they prepare to lead in their chosen fields.
"The NextEra Energy Foundation is pleased to support Palm Beach Atlantic University, preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to succeed in today's dynamic business environment," said Juliet Roulhac, senior director of external affairs for the Broward & Southwest regions for Florida Power & Light Company and the senior director of corporate philanthropy for NextEra Energy, Inc. "We're committed to powering strong communities making them better places to live, work, and raise a family."
