The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that bridge rehabilitation will be performed on the North Wall Street Bridge over I-691 in Meriden. This work is scheduled to start on Sunday night, June 28, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. and be completed by Sunday, August 23, 2026. A detour will be implemented at both ends of the North Wall Street Bridge while the bridge is being rehabilitated. Pedestrian traffic over the bridge will be maintained throughout this period.
CTDOT Project No. 0079-0246 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $185,000,000 on January 29, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2028. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

DETOUR INFORMATION
The North Wall Street Bridge over I-691 will be closed starting Sunday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Traffic will follow posted detour.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
