Sharon AI is the leading Australian neocloud delivering trusted, sovereign AI infrastructure, and today that mission takes another step forward. NVIDIA has named Sharon AI as part of an expanding ecosystem of Australian AI clouds and AI factory developers working to scale the nation's AI infrastructure at gigawatt scale, supporting Australia's growing AI economy and global demand for AI compute.
A national AI infrastructure buildout
NVIDIA's announcement centres on an expanding collaboration with Australian AI clouds and AI factory developers, built on the NVIDIA DSX AI factory platform. These full-stack AI factories combine NVIDIA accelerated computing, networking, software and reference designs to give Australian startups, universities, researchers, enterprises, developers and AI-native companies the capacity they need to train, deploy and scale AI. Organisations will also gain expanded access to NVIDIA Nemotron open models, helping them build regional AI models, applications and agents suited to local industries.
Sharon AI's role
Within this national buildout, NVIDIA confirmed Sharon AI is deploying up to 68,000 NVIDIA GPUs, comprised of NVIDIA HGX B300 and NVIDIA GB300 NVL72, leveraging NVIDIA DSX to support startups, enterprises and research organisations, an increase on our previous target of 64,000 GPUs and a reflection of the demand we're seeing for sovereign, secure AI compute across Australia.
Our GPU infrastructure runs on NVIDIA HGX B300 and NVIDIA GB300 NVL72, with NVIDIA InfiniBand as the primary interconnect across most deployments. An exception is one AI factory which uses RoCE.
As our Co-Founder and CEO, James Manning, said: "Australia has the energy, connectivity and ambition to lead in AI. That potential only becomes real capability when organisations can access world-class compute without compromising on security or sovereignty. By building on NVIDIA DSX, Sharon AI is equipped to bring gigawatt-scale AI factories to Australian enterprises, researchers, government and AI natives. With the trust and reliability, they need to build, train and deploy AI at scale, this is how Australia turns its natural advantages into a genuine national AI capability."
What it means for Australian organisations
Australia is well placed to lead on AI, with established energy and digital infrastructure, deep technical talent and a reputation as a trusted global economic partner. For startups, enterprises, government agencies, universities and researchers, Sharon AI's expanded deployment on NVIDIA DSX means faster access to world-class accelerated computing and open models, without the capital outlay or delays traditionally involved in standing up AI infrastructure. It's a direct expression of what we set out to do as Australia's leading neocloud: we are equipped to bring giga-watt scale AI factories to help organisations spend less time solving infrastructure challenges and more time using AI to build competitive advantage.
We're proud to be recognised by NVIDIA as part of this next phase of Australia's AI infrastructure buildout, and we look forward to continuing to build the sovereign infrastructure that will power the next wave of Australian AI innovation.
