Even more active approach to fulfilling obligations in European integration process

The Serbian government stated that a meeting of the Operational Team for the Process of the Republic of Serbia's Accession to the European Union was held today, at which the head of the team and chief negotiator, Ambassador Danijel Apostolović, called for an even more consistent and active approach to fulfilling obligations arising from the accession process to the Union.

Apostolović reiterated that our obligations arising from the EU accession process are being implemented, above all, for the benefit of our citizens, emphasising that he expects responsibility from all actors participating in this process.

The chief negotiator underlined that joint meetings with all negotiating groups, bilateral meetings with individual institutions, as well as meetings with the European Commission will also intensify from September.

According to him, we must show that we are a credible partner of the European Union, capable of consistently implementing our obligations from this process.

When it comes to the upcoming annual report of the European Commission, Apostolović reiterated that the implementation of the recommendations will begin immediately after its publication.

He concluded that we have the strongest administrative capacities in the region, and that it is high time we demonstrated this through concrete progress in the accession negotiations, to the extent in which it depends solely from our side.
