Securityplus Federal Credit Union is celebrating the opening of its newest branch with a community-wide block party on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 am to 2 pm, at 1740 E. Joppa Road in Parkville, Maryland. The free, family-friendly celebration will bring together local residents, community leaders, and the Securityplus team for a day filled with entertainment, food, prizes, and fun.
The grand opening marks an exciting milestone for Securityplus as it welcomes the Parkville community to its sixth branch location. To celebrate, the credit union is pulling out all the stops with a block party designed to bring neighbors together and introduce residents to the Securityplus experience.
A special ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 12 p.m., bringing together Securityplus leadership, community members, and local elected officials, including Baltimore County Councilman Julian Jones, Maryland State Delegate Harry Bhandari, Maryland State Senator Carl Jackson, and many more.
The Parkville branch, which opened its doors on October 26, represents the next generation of Securityplus locations. Designed as a prototype for future branches, the modern space features enhanced technology, dedicated consultation areas, and an inviting environment that places greater emphasis on personal relationships and meaningful financial conversations.
The celebration comes at an exciting time for Securityplus, which was recently recognized by Forbes as one of America's best credit unions for the state of Maryland. The honor underscores the credit union's commitment to exceptional service and community impact as it continues to grow and serve members throughout the region.
The new location also fulfills a long-standing request from members seeking a Securityplus presence on Baltimore's east side, making the celebration especially meaningful for the credit union and the community it serves.
With the branch now open, Securityplus says it looks forward to building new relationships, supporting local families and businesses, and continuing its commitment to helping the Greater Baltimore community thrive.
