WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. - With a career spanning more than three decades, country music icon Sammy Kershaw makes his way to SEVEN Bar inside Cherokee Casino & Hotel West Siloam Springs on Friday, Feb. 13, at 9 p.m.
Kershaw has solidified his place as one of the genre's most enduring traditionalists. The Louisiana native has achieved three platinum and six gold albums, selling more than 5 million records and nearly 100 million songs across platforms. Known for his rich, unmistakable voice, Kershaw has often been hailed as the rightful successor to the legendary George Jones - a comparison he proudly embraces.
Kershaw made his national debut in the early 1990s with his breakout hit "Cadillac Style," launching a run of chart-topping singles that helped define the decade in country music. Among his best-known hits are "She Don't Know She's Beautiful," "Queen of My Doublewide Trailer," "National Working Woman's Holiday," "Love of My Life" and "I Can't Reach Her Anymore." These tracks climbed the Billboard charts and became staples on country radio, with "She Don't Know She's Beautiful" remaining one of the format's most-played songs over the past 30 years.
Inspired by classic voices like Conway Twitty and Mel Street, Kershaw began performing as a teenager, even opening for George Jones, who later invited the young artist to join him on stage regularly. His heartfelt ballads and stone-country sound struck a chord with fans and critics alike, leading to Grammy nominations and millions of devoted listeners.
In recent years, Kershaw has continued to tour extensively, both solo and as part of the acclaimed Roots & Boots Tour alongside Collin Raye and Aaron Tippin. He is currently working on three new albums and preparing to release his long-awaited autobiography, promising a candid look at his journey through the highs and lows of life and music. From Kaplan, Louisiana, to stages across North America, Sammy Kershaw remains a vital force in country music - proving, just like one of his hit songs, that he's "Better Than I Used to Be."
The show is free to those 21 and older.
