"Sight Unseen" Multiple block relief print on Okawara Paper 38" x 24" by Christopher Hartshorne

Christopher Hartshorne, Senior Instructor of Printmaking, will be featured in the 2026 Pacific States Biennial North American Juried Print Exhibition in Hilo, Hawai'i.

The exhibition runs Nov. 2, 2026 through Jan. 14, 2027 at the University of Hawai'i Hilo

I use my extensive library of woodblocks as a visual language, repeating components in new configurations throughout my body of work. I fragment, combine, repeat, layer, and remix the imagery and see this as a reflection of how our world is assembled.

Christopher Hartshorne
Senior Instructor

Hartshorne's work, "Sight Unseen," was selected from among hundreds of submissions by noted juror Althea Murphy-Price.

The Pacific States Biennial North American printmaking exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older presently residing anywhere on the North American continent, its islands, and outlying US territories. The biennial exhibition is hosted in conjunction with the UH Hilo Mookini Library.
