U.S. News: TWU again scores high for social mobility

Sept. 22, 2026 ― DENTON ― U.S. News & World Report recognized Texas Woman's among the nation's best for social mobility for the fourth consecutive year and ranked the university's undergraduate nursing and business programs among the country's best.

In the social mobility category, U.S. News listed Texas Woman's in the top 16% of institutions that were ranked nationally. Among Texas public universities, Texas Woman's ranked eighth.

The social mobility ranking considers an institution's ability to enroll and graduate large proportions of disadvantaged students awarded Pell Grants.

U.S. News also recognized Texas Woman's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program as the No. 1 program among North Texas public universities and No. 4 among Texas public institutions. The BSN program ranked among the top 17% of all institutions nationally.

The publication also has recognized the university's online and graduate nursing programs a combined six times since 2020. The nursing college has programming on TWU's Denton, Dallas and Houston campuses.

For 2027, Texas Woman's undergraduate business program was ranked 12^th out of 28 Texas public institutions that were recognized by the magazine. And the university's undergraduate psychology and computer science programs were recognized by the magazine.

The rankings were made public in U.S. News' 2027 "Best Colleges" guide, which reviewed more than 1,700 four-year U.S. colleges and universities for its annual ranking's edition.
