ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with the Russian Federation reaffirms Strategic Partnership

The ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with Russia was held in Manila today. The Meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both sides to further strengthen the Strategic Partnership and chart its future direction, in the context of the 35^th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia relations this year.

In this regard, the Meeting welcomed the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan of Action to Implement ASEAN-Russian Federation Strategic Partnership (2026-2030) at the recent ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit held in June 2026 in Kazan, Russia, together with the Kazan Declaration 2026: "ASEAN-Russian Federation: Unity in Diversity - 35 Years Together", the Joint Statement of ASEAN and the Russian Federation on Energy Cooperation, and the Joint Statement of ASEAN and the Russian Federation on Cultural Cooperation, which collectively provide strategic guidance for the partnership in the years ahead.

The Meeting was attended by ASEAN Foreign Ministers or their representatives, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, and Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community, Dato' Astanah Abdul Aziz.
