A construction project will impact how patients and visitors enter the Benefis Emergency Department at East Campus.
The reception and waiting area of the Emergency Department is being remodeled to optimize the space for triage and patient comfort.
The project will be split into two phases. The first phase begins July 20 and will require the main entrance of the Emergency Department to close.
The detour entrance will be on the west side of the waiting area facing 11th Ave. South.
Many of the parking spots near the temporary entrance are currently being used as a staging area for construction equipment and vehicles, but the entrance will be marked with highly visible signs.
Work on phase one is expected to be complete in September.
The main Emergency Department entrance will reopen for phase two in late September, when work will move to the back of the waiting area. This phase is expected to last until January.
