We are pleased to announce that Syerikbol (Seka) Sairan formally began his term as President of IMOA at the close of our AGM in September. Seka, from Rio Tinto, succeeds our outgoing President José Pérez, from Codelco, who completed his two-year term at our recent AGM.
On his appointment as IMOA's President, Seka, said:
"I am honored to begin my tenure as IMOA's President. The Association is a driving force in the molybdenum industry, bringing together the value chain to work for the greater good of the industry. During my time as President, my aim is to support the IMOA team and the key work steams that they deliver on behalf of the members. We are supported by a highly capable and dedicated team here at IMOA, so I have no doubt we will continue building on the progress we have made over the past few years."
IMOA's outgoing President, José Pérez, commented:
"During my two-year tenure as President of IMOA, I have seen many outstanding achievements. The Association brings together a significant part of the value chain that connects people through networking and generates different perspectives. It is a very powerful way to address industry issues and maximize outcomes by leveraging our collective expertise and economies of scale.
"IMOA is a very lean, agile and highly efficient organization. The number of projects undertaken and outcomes achieved with limited resources is really impressive. I would like to thank the IMOA secretariat, all committee members, and our network of members for their hard work and commitment. I would also like to welcome Syerikbol (Seka) Sairan from Rio Tinto as the new President of our Association for the next two years and wish them well for the future."
Eva Model, Secretary-General of IMOA, commented:
"I would like to thank José for his support throughout his tenure as President. We have seen the Association make great strides over the past two years. I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Seka. I look forward to working with him for the benefit of our members and the molybdenum industry as a whole."
