Suspect Arrested Following Sexual Assault in Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at approximately 7:10 a.m., officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct responded to the 3000 block of Southeast 92^nd Avenue after an adult male entered a residence and sexually assaulted a 17-year-old female who was asleep inside a bedroom. The sexual assault was interrupted by a family member who chased the suspect out of the residence and called 911. Officers located and arrested the suspect. A one-year-old child, who was sleeping with the teen victim at the time of the assault, was not harmed.

The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Antony Alfred, was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) and lodged on the following charges: Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree, Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, and Attempted Rape in the First Degree.

Detectives with PPB's Sex Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Forensic Evidence Division, responded to the scene to process it. In addition, detectives canvassed the area for video evidence.

"Our hearts are with the teenage victim and her loved ones as they navigate the aftermath of this traumatic experience," PPB Chief Bob Day said. "This was a frightening crime that was brought to an end because a family member acted immediately and called 911. I commend the quick response of our officers who apprehended the suspect and the diligent work of our detectives as they continue this investigation."
