The Portland Police Bureau is releasing additional information about a crash in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood.

Upon further investigation, the adult male injured in a crash in Southeast Portland on Monday, September 21, 2026, was riding a modified motorized two-wheel scooter and not a bicycle as originally reported. PPB regrets the error.
No further information will be released at this time.

Man Injured in Crash in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood
On Monday, September 21, 2026, at 4:27 p.m., Portland Fire & Rescue and Portland Police officers from East Precinct responded to a crash in the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood. The crash involved a TriMet Lift Bus and a man on a scooter in the 4300 block of Southeast 136th Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from life threatening injuries. The adult male was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
The TriMet driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Portland Police Traffic Division is responding. Southeast 136th Avenue is closed in both directions between Southeast Center Street and Southeast Cora Street during the investigation.
