STATEMENT: Statement from Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith recapping 2025:

INDIANAPOLIS - "As Hoosiers across the state get ready to ring in a new year, I want to take a moment to look back at the work our office delivered in 2025.

This year our office focused on responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, support for families and faith communities, and practical, real-world results for Hoosiers.

We tightened opoerations within our own office and pushed back on unnecessary spending. More than $100,000 in wasteful contracts were eliminated, and existing agreements werer reviewed and renegotiated to ensure accountability.

Strengtenening partnerships with faith-based organizations was a major priority. Our office established the Office of Faith-Based Initatives to better connect churches and nonprofits with opportunities to serve their communities. We engaged directly with faith leaders and removed barriers that had kept churches on the sidelines.

In coordination with the Attorney General's Office, our office helped establish a Churches' Bill of Rights. This effor pushed back against growing goverment intrusion and clearly affirmed protections for religious organizations so they can operate according to their beliefs while serving their communities.

Parental rights in education remained a priority. Our office pushed back against ideologocial advocacy in classrooms and inappropriate content in public institutions. We stood firm for transparency, parental involvement, and local control, and we did no tback down from that position.

Through the Office of Community and Rural Affairs, our office directed millions in federal funding to 11 Indiana communities for water systems, infrastructure, and community revitalization. OCRA also improved the CDBG grant process so small towns could better anvigate applications and compliance, cutting through red table that too often slows progress.

Working with the Indiana State Department of Agriculture and industry partners, our office supported efforts that led to a $6.4 billion export agreement with Taiwan for Indiana grown corn and soybeans. Expanding market access strengthens farm income and helps protect the future of Indiana agriculture.

Our office also continuted to push for farmland preservation and insisted that local voices be heard as development decisions move forward.

This work will continue in the year ahead with the same focus on accountability, families, faith, freedom and farmers.

We look forward to building on this progress in 2026.

God bless Indiana. "
