National EMS Memorial Honors Fallen LifeNet of New York Paramedic Kevin Robert During Cross-Country Procession Stop in Ticonderoga

TICONDEROGA, NY - July 1, 2026 - Emergency medical services professionals, first responders, family members, friends, and community supporters gathered at the LifeNet of New York 7-13 base in Ticonderoga on Monday, June 29 to honor the life and service of fallen Flight Paramedic Kevin Robert during a stop of the National EMS Memorial Service's annual Moving Honors procession.

The Moving Honors procession, a nationwide tribute that travels across the country carrying memorial portraits of EMS clinicians who lost their lives in the line of duty, stopped at Robert's home base to recognize his sacrifice and lasting impact on the EMS community. Robert passed away in the line of duty unexpectedly in August 2025.

During the ceremony, attendees gathered alongside members of the National EMS Memorial Service to reflect on Robert's commitment to his patients, teammates, and profession. The event served as an opportunity for colleagues and loved ones to share memories and ensure his legacy continues to inspire future generations of EMS providers.

"Moving Honors exists to ensure that the sacrifices made by EMS professionals are never forgotten," said Megan Haverkamp, Moving Honors Crew Chief. "Kevin dedicated his life to serving others during their most critical moments, and it is our privilege to honor him alongside his family, friends, and colleagues. By honoring his sacrifice at the place he proudly called home, we help preserve his legacy and recognize the profound impact he had on his community and the EMS profession."

The recognition follows Robert's inclusion in the New York State EMS Memorial ceremony held in May at Empire State Plaza in Albany. The memorial honors EMS providers from across New York who lost their lives in the line of duty and serves as a permanent tribute to their service and sacrifice.

"Kevin was more than a teammate, he was a trusted friend, mentor, and someone who made everyone around him better," Chuck Margarites, LifeNet of New York area manager and Robert's longtime friend and colleague. "He cared deeply about his patients, his crew, and this community. Seeing so many people come together today is a testament to the impact he had on countless lives. While we miss him every day, we are proud to honor his memory and ensure his legacy of service lives on."

The National EMS Memorial Service is dedicated to honoring EMS personnel who have died in the line of duty and supporting their families, friends, and colleagues. Through programs such as Moving Honors, the organization ensures the sacrifices of EMS professionals are remembered and celebrated.
