Metro K Line Extension to Torrance Project Update

Metro has officially certified the Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and approved the Hawthorne Option route for the 4.5-mile K Line Extension from Redondo Beach to Torrance Transit Center. The project includes two new elevated stations and will provide a one-seat trip to LAX in approximately 19 minutes. Metro estimates 4.9 million annual trips, attracting 1.7 million new riders, and generating 15,000 construction-related jobs with a ~$16 billion economic boost over 20 years 12.

Project Timeline:
