FSU Theatre Presents Roundabout Children's Theatre Tour Performance: Freckleface Strawberry The Musical

Frostburg State University's Department of Music, Theatre and Dance is excited to present a Theatre for Young Audiences performance as part of the Roundabout Children's Theatre Program and Tour. This year, FSU students participating in the tour will take part in the FSU ASTAR AmeriCorps program.

An in-house performance of "Freckleface Strawberry The Musical" will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Pealer Performing Arts Center's Drama Theatre at Frostburg State University.

Freckleface Strawberry is just like everyone else, except for one thing. She has red hair. And something worse…FRECKLES! How she got them was a mystery. The kids at school are obsessed with her freckles and it's a bit too much for Freckleface Strawberry. She will do just about anything to get rid of them: scrub them with soap, talk to them and even hide them!

With the help of her friends, classmates and Mom, Freckleface learns that everyone is different and that is precisely what makes everyone special!

With catchy tunes, energetic dance numbers and a powerful message, "Freckleface Strawberry The Musical" will have your family bouncing with reflection, friendship and fun.

"Freckleface Strawberry The Musical" is directed by Nicole Mattis with musical direction by Michaela Hale and original choreography by FSU Theatre major Kenzie Pein. Costumes are designed by Rachel Saylor. The stage manager is Ronan Franc and the tour technical director is Rowen Collins.

Performers include Gracie Ray (Strawberry), Jackson Hordubay (Danny), Taylor Kelly (Harry), Gregory Dishong (Jake), Julia Rae Jackson (Ballet Girl), Shay Fochtman (Jane) and Madison Douglas (Emily).

"Freckleface Strawberry The Musical" is based on the books written by Julianne Moore with illustrations by LeUyen Pham. The music and lyrics are by Gary Kupper with the book by Gary Kupper and Rose Caiola. "Freckleface Strawberry The Musical" is produced through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
